Peel Yacht Car

A request was made by a millionaire yacht owner from the Channel Isles for a special vehicle to a very challenging specification, i.e. to seat four adult, carry yacht provisions, fold flat and to be light enough for two deckhands to carry on and off the vessel. Looking something like a modern golf cart it had a one piece fibreglass chassis, the Villiers light car 250cc engine, fitted with Sibe Dynastart electrics was mounted behind the rear wheels driving through a sprocket chain, various parts were manufactured but not used. A fold down lightweight but rigid roof for carrying provisions and some weather protection was fitted. A second was ordered and produced but it is not clear if any further examples were built. The car had a weird drive system.
